Emily Priestley
Area of Practice – Wills & Estates
Expertise
Over the course of her legal career, Emily has developed particular expertise in the area of wills and estates, an area in which she now exclusively practises. She works with her clients to:-
- develop comprehensive estate plans to suit their requirements, often in conjunction with their accountants and financial planners;
- incorporate complex trust structures in the estate plan, including amendment and variation of trust deeds as necessary; and
- quickly and effectively administer both simple and complex deceased estates.
Emily has also acted for both applicants and respondents in Family Provision claims in the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She prides herself on her ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with her clients and has consideration for their individual circumstances and needs.
Prior to joining Somerville Legal, Emily worked in a generalist firm which afforded her experience in a wide range of practice areas in addition to estate planning & administration, including property law and family law.

Personal Statement
Emily loves the cooler months as they bring skiing, log fires and days made for indulging in movies and books. In her spare time, Emily enjoys the rugby, Formula 1 and working on her passion project: sampling the many Afternoon Teas on offer around the world.
